Kenya’s U-19 cricket team emerged victorious against Nigeria in a gripping ODI series, winning 2-0 in a closely contested battle that captivated fans of the sport.

The first match of the series was unfortunately washed out due to rain, leaving the teams eager to prove their mettle in the remaining games.

In the inaugural match of the series, rain curtailed the game; however, Kenya rebounded impressively in the subsequent encounter, successfully defending a modest score of 138 through a remarkable bowling display.

In the finale, Kenya amassed a formidable 210 runs, highlighted by an extraordinary innings from top-order batsman Stian Smith, whose dazzling 95 runs played a pivotal role in securing the series.

Victory was adjudicated via the Duckworth-Lewis-Stern method following another rain interruption, thus cementing their dominance in the series.

The Kenya U-19 cricket team’s journey from the Easter Youth ODI series against Uganda and Rwanda in March to their recent triumph over Nigeria has been impressive.

Most players, including Captain Yash Gohil, Stian Smith, Shlok Saini, Neel Doshi, Aditya Vekariya, Yuvraj Bhatyani, Akshith Sekar, Anthony Ndungu, Pranay Galaiya, Ashdeep Kundi, Yug Patel, Fortune Kyalo, Saijeeth Chidambaram, and Dhir Patel, seamlessly carried their form and experience from the March series into last week’s series against Nigeria, where they continued to deliver remarkable performances.

Several new talents, including Krishil Patel, Manveer Singh, Harsh Choudhery, and Hritik Choudhery, were also integrated into the team, bringing fresh energy and perspectives that contributed significantly to the team’s recent successes.
