By Luke Oluoch, September 15, 2025Kenya U20 and MOFA attacker Lawrence Ouma has completed his switch to the Finnish top-tier side, SJK Senaijoki.
According to an update from MOFA on Monday, September 15, 2025, Ouma is set to link up with the team after he left the country in July 2025 for trials abroad.
The towering poacher was a key member of the Rising Stars AFCON U20 team in Egypt, and became Kenya’s first-ever goal scorer in the junior continental games, moving straight from the NSL side, MOFA, owned by Michael Olunga.

Following the AFCON games, the striker jetted out for trials with Swedish side Vasalund IF alongside teammate Rodgers Ouma on Monday, July 21, 2025.
In Finland, the Kenyan joins Chinedu Umeh, a 19-year-old striker who officially signed with the club in June 2025, Babacar Fati of Guinea-Bissau, and Zimbabwe’s Prosper Padera among the African contingent in the team.
Coached by head coach Stevie Grieve, SJK plays in the top tier of Finland’s professional association football league is also known as the Veikkausliiga.
The league comprises 12 teams that compete for the national championship, with its season typically running from April to November.

It operates on a double round-robin format, and at the end of the season, the team with the most points is crowned the champion.
His moves come days after Ryan Ogam also secured a move to the Austrian Bundesliga.

Ogam, who enjoyed a breakout international campaign with Benni McCarthy’s team, was signed by Wolfsberger AC from Tusker.
“Tusker FC confirms that striker Ryan Wesley Ogam has completed a move to Austrian Bundesliga club Wolfsberger AC. The transfer marks an exciting new chapter for one of Kenya’s brightest young football talents,” a statement from the club read on Wednesday, September 3, 2025.
