Kenya Tourism Board, AK to showcase nation’s winning formula in world fora
Kenya Tourism Board (KTB) will partner with Athletics Kenya training camp owners in the country to promote their facilities to international athletes.
During an awards luncheon for the winners of the inaugural Kapsabet Half Marathon, KTB CEO June Chepkemei noted that Kenya’s rising status as a running powerhouse continues to attract international athletes to train alongside Kenyans.
She added that KTB will continue to position the country as the home of champions.
“We have witnessed a number of international visitors scouting for talent in athletics by enrolling in training, either for physical health or competition purposes. This presents an opportunity for us to seize and make Kenya a premier training destination for athletics,” Chepkemei conveyed.
She further challenged camp owners, particularly in the Rift Valley region as well as parts of Central and Ukambani that boast numerous facilities, to upgrade their camps to meet international standards in order to enhance the experience for trainees.
