Kenya Police part ways with FKF-PL winning coach Etienne Ndayiragijye
By Luke Oluoch, October 29, 2025Reigning Football Kenya Federation Premier League champions Kenya Police have confirmed the departure of Burundian coach Etienne Ndajiragijye.
The club said the decision to part ways has been made on mutual consent.
“Kenya Police FC wishes to announce to the general public that, effective 29th October 2025, it has mutually parted ways with the Head Coach, Mr. Ettiene Ndayiragije,” part of the club’s statement read.
Career progression
According to a statement on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, the tactician left to pursue new career opportunities.
“During his tenure, Mr. Ndayaragije diligently steered the club to bag its maiden league trophy. Owing to his desire to advance his career and experience, Mr. Ettiene requested that the club allow him to pursue greener pastures and newer challenges.”
Police went on to wish the coach their best in his future endeavours.
“The Club acceded to this request. Mr. Ettiene has a special place in Kenya Police FC history. The Club’s Board of Directors and the Executive take this opportunity to wish him the best of luck, even as he pursues bigger challenges within newer coaching frontiers,” the statement parted.

Ndayiragije arrived at the club in November with the team stuck in 17th place and battling relegation. He turned things around, bringing stability and a fresh belief, culminating in a historic first league title.
Dismal CAF run
His departure comes after the Police failed to make a mark on their return to the continental stage after earning the honours of representing the country in the 2025 CAF competition alongside FKF Cup winners, Nairobi United.
The law enforcers were ousted at the second round stage by Sudan’s Al Hilal Omdurman after losing both at home and away on a 4-0 aggregate.
Police had equally struggled to advance to the second round stage after surviving a scare in the preliminary rounds of the CAF Champions League games against Somalian outfit Mogadishu FC.
The law enforcer’s performance was dwarfed by Nairobi United, who managed to secure passage to the group stages of the CAF Confederation Cup with a historic win over Etoile Du Sahel.
The new FKF PL team achieved the feat on their debut campaign.
