Kenya Cup leaders KCB RFC have enlisted DHL Stormers forwards coach Rito Hlungwani to sharpen their pack ahead of their high-stakes clash with defending champions Kabras Sugar tomorrow at the ASK Grounds in Kakamega.

The match, a top-of-the-table fixture, is set to determine the regular season leader and secure crucial home advantage for the Kenya Cup final.

With both teams level on points and title ambitions on the line, KCB is banking on Hlungwani’s expertise to fine-tune their forward play, particularly in set-pieces and breakdown efficiency.

Hlungwani, who has been working with the squad at the KCB Sports Club in Ruaraka, praised the team’s talent and discipline.

“Our focus has been on refining key areas to ensure they are well-prepared for the upcoming challenge,” he said.

Bankers are currently sitting atop the Kenya Cup standings with 50 points after nine rounds. They last hosted a final in 2006.

Head coach Oliver Mang’eni believes Hlungwani’s input will be a game-changer against Kabras, a side known for its physicality.

“Having a coach of his caliber working with our forwards is a big boost. Kabras is a strong side, but the pressure is on them to deliver in front of their home crowd,” Mang’eni noted.
