Kariobangi Sharks forward to miss final matches of 2022/23 season due to injury
FKF Premier League side Kariobangi Sharks will have to face their final two matches of the season without the presence of their key attacker Moses Shikanda.
Shikanda, who sustained an ankle injury in April, is still in the process of recovery and is expected to return to action in the next season.
Sharks statement
In an official statement released by the club, it was confirmed that Shikanda’s absence is due to a lingering ankle injury, which has ruled him out for the remainder of the season.
Despite the setback, the young forward has had an impressive debut season in the top-flight league, making a notable impact with his goal-scoring abilities.

“Moses Shikanda has been ruled out for the rest of the season due to an ankle injury, the marksman has had quite a remarkable top-flight debut season,” a statement from the club confirmed.
Shikanda suffered the injury during Kariobangi Sharks‘ 3-1 defeat against Kakamega Homeboyz in April 2023.
Prior to the injury, he had showcased his talent by scoring eight goals, a remarkable achievement considering it was his first season with the club.
Shikanda joined Kariobangi Sharks in September 2022 from Kakamega’s Green Commandos, and his performance in the top tier has been nothing short of outstanding.
Unfortunately, Shikanda’s absence will be felt as Kariobangi Sharks embark on a 488.1-kilometre journey to Mombasa, where they are scheduled to face Bandari FC in the penultimate round of the 2022/23 season.
Final matches
He will also be unavailable for the final league match of the season, which will see Kariobangi Sharks hosting AFC Leopards in Nairobi.
The loss of Shikanda poses a challenge for Kariobangi Sharks, who are aiming to secure a top-half finish in the league standings.

Throughout the season, the team has faced difficulties, registering 10 wins, 11 draws, and 11 losses in their 32 matches played.
As it currently stands, Kariobangi Sharks occupy the 10th position on the FKF Premier League table.
