Tusker FC striker Eric Kapaito expressed his delight at breaking his goal drought in the FKF Premier League with a stellar performance last weekend.

Kapaito, who had faced a challenging start to the season, finally found the back of the net, scoring twice in a crucial 3-2 victory over Bidco United in Murang’a.

Despite the tough period, Kapaito revealed that he maintained a strong work ethic behind the scenes, always believing that he could overcome the goal drought.

The forward acknowledged the crucial role played by the coach, expressing gratitude for the belief placed in him. Kapaito added that his persistence and hard work had paid off, boosting his morale after the much-needed goals.

“First goal for Tusker and the first for the season, and I thank God. I have been working hard and believing in the team. The coach believed in me, and it has paid off. It’s a great thing to score in every game but I had not scored in a while. So, it’s a great feeling that boosts morale,” Kapaito conveyed in a statement to Tusker FC media.

Kapaito’s breakthrough

This breakthrough comes shortly after Kapaito confidently stated that he was undeterred by the goal drought, expressing assurance that he would turn the situation around.

Kapaito’s journey to Tusker involved a decision to leave Zanaco and sign a one-year renewable deal with the club after being clubless following his departure from Ethiopian side Arba Minch City.
