Kanbis pip Swamibapa to win T20 Tour

There was plenty of action on Sunday at the Jaffrey’s Club in Lavington after bigwigs Kanbis Sports Club and Swamibapa Sports Club tied in regular overs played in the Twenty20 Super League Tournament finale. Both teams had tied on a score of 134 before the former won in a Super-Over. 

Nairobi Provincial Cricket Association (NPCA) match which saw Swami win the toss selecting to bat in the first innings made the hosts set a target of 135 for the opponents after they won 134-5 score at the break.

Rushabh Patel (44 runs off 44 balls) and Maurice Ouma(44 runs off 38 balls) were joint top-scorers for Swamibapa in a match that saw Rajesh Bhudia of Kanbis collect two wickets. Ouma for Swami had his contribution including five boundaries and 2-sixes on the board while Patel had four boundaries to his name.

 In the second innings, Kanbis chased beautifully but ended up with a similar 134 score on the board but with the loss of six wickets. Rakep Patel (44 runs off 40 balls) was their top scorer after the break with his contribution of two boundaries and 2-sixes.

He was later bowled out by James Ngoche in the 15th over. Bowler Ngoche had an impressive three wickets inside 15 runs for Swami. Nelson Odhiambo (21 runs off 19 balls) was the second-highest scorer for his team with Sachin Bhudia (15 runs off 16 balls) coming in third on the scorers’ list after being slotted at number five in the batting order.
