With a six-year gap since their last National 7s title, Kabras face a challenging task to maintain their lead and clinch the championship.

Hot on their heels are KCB Rugby, with 91 points, just one point behind Kabras. KCB are determined to surpass Kabras in the final round and reclaim the title they last held in 2019.

Despite missing out on a podium finish, KCB managed to secure 13 crucial points in the latest round.

Strathmore Leos remain in contention with 82 points, staying within reach of the top spot after another appearance in the finals. However, they need to make up a 10-point gap to catch up with Kabras in the standings.

For Menengai Oilers, their title defence appear to be slipping away, as the best they can achieve this season is 93 points. Presently, they have 71 points after completing five rounds.

Mwamba occupy the fifth spot following a fourth-place finish in Eldoret, while Kenya Harlequin rank sixth with 66 points. Nondies, the Tisap 7s Champions, have amassed 50 points, and Nakuru trail closely with 49 points. Homeboyz and Kisumu round out the top 10.

The teams are gearing up for the final leg of the National 7s campaign in Nairobi next weekend.

Nondescripts, celebrating their centenary year, made history by winning the Tisap 7s title after defeating Strathmore Leos 12-7 in sudden-death extra time.

The thrilling final witnessed Moses Begi scoring a try for Nondies, with Daniel Okito adding the conversion for a 7-0 lead. Strathmore quickly responded, with Andrew Matoka touching down and Stephen Osumba converting to level the score at halftime.

Despite a deadlock in the second half, the game was decided in extra time. Strathmore missed a crucial try-scoring opportunity when Collins Maina lost the ball on Nondies’ try line.

In a swift counter-attack, Nondies seized the moment as Charles Odhiambo capitalized on Strathmore’s defensive lapse, grabbing the loose ball to score the match-winning try.

This victory marked a significant achievement for Nondies, who had not reached a cup final on the circuit since 2002.

Kabras, KCB shocked

The Tisap 7s also witnessed a surprising turn of events, as circuit leaders Kabras Sugar and KCB Rugby were unexpectedly eliminated from cup contention in the quarterfinals. Kabras Sugar suffered a 19-5 defeat to Mwamba, while KCB Rugby faced a 10-5 loss to Menengai Oilers.
