Jackpot winner to set up a football club in Konoin

Former SportPesa mega jackpot winner Cosmas Korir revealed that plans are in place to establish a formidable football club in Konoin Constituency, Bomet County.  

Korir who pocketed a jackpot of Sh208 million in 2018 says he is committed to allocating resources in search of talents; a move he discloses will culminate in a major football club that will play in the country’s premier league in the near future.  

Speaking at Boito playing ground, Korir says he plans to sponsor football tournaments that are aimed at helping the youth or even young children to showcase their talents. He says the tourneys will be staged yearly. 

“We will have a team to scout for talents during the tourneys  and this will assist us to come up with a football club that will play in the premier league going forward. It may sound like a joke but we’re serious about it”, he asserts. 

Korir reveals that he is ready to support and nurture talented youth in football and later other sports disciplines so that they can realise their dreams.  

 He says he invested the money he won in various assets adding that he is using part of the profits from the venture to support sports in a bid to take the sector to the next level.
