Kenya (NOC-K) president Paul Tergat has said he doesn’t have any preferred candidates to work with as he declared his intentions of defending his position during the body’s polls next month.

“I will certainly be defending my position during the elections next month. We have achieved a lot during my term in office and I feel we can only get better.

During this period, I have managed to get a number of global recognitions, but I will definitely be on the ballot to continue with the work we have already started locally,” he told People Sport.

“I know there are many people interested in vying for different positions. I know there are many candidates for the vice president position, but I don’t have a preferred candidate.”

So far no one has shown open interest to challenge Tergat for the top position, but other seats have attracted a number of both new and renowned sports administrators.
