Tusker FC head coach Robert Matano acknowledged the challenge posed by their match against AFC Leopards but expressed contentment with securing maximum points.

Ahead of the encounter, AFC Leopards boasted an impressive unbeaten run in 2024, having clinched victory in seven out of nine matches, including a remarkable five-match winning streak.

In their clash at Machakos, one goal proved decisive. Matano conceded that it was a tightly contested affair, with limited spaces for his team to exploit.

He highlighted their strategy of restricting Leopards‘ chances, a tactic that effectively thwarted their opponent’s attacking prowess.

“It was a challenging encounter given that both teams possess similar strengths. We faced difficulties finding open spaces, but we executed our plan well by closing down their opportunities.

“Consequently, they were unable to capitalize on their usual chances. Our primary objective was to secure victory, and we achieved that goal satisfactorily,” Matano said in a post-match interview.
