AFC Leopards midfielder Brian Wanyama has expressed optimism about a positive campaign as he angles for his fifth season with the Football Kenya Premier League side.

The Leopards’ No. 8, who is a product of the club’s youth team, the Cubs, made the sentiments on Saturday, September 6, 2025, after committing to an extended stay at the club by renewing his contract.

He has premised his assertions on the immense support from the club’s new management and the new office and their preparations heading into the season.

Great things

“I am happy to renew my contract with this great club, and I am hopeful of good things ahead. We know this year we will achieve great things; we have had the support from the office and also a good preseason, and we hope we will have a decent run,” he stated.

The attacking midfielder has sent a passionate message to the fans to continue their support, expressing faith in ending the club’s long wait for silverware in the 2025 season.

“I want to urge the fans to continue their support in our games. We promise to keep the trust with good performance and to get silverware in the season,” he added.

His sentiments come as Leopards seek to unveil their new players for the season in an event scheduled for this Sunday, September 7, 2025.

According to an update from the club, the function will be staged at the Dandora Stadium.

The event will see a series of events taking place, with a friendly clash against lower-tier side New Kings topping the on-pitch action.

Series of events

Ahead of the events signalling the start of a new campaign by the team, Ingwe has been on a signing spree, roping in a number of new stars as it seeks fresh tidings in the top league after a finish under coach Fred Ambani.
