Harambee Stars probable XI: Masud Juma, Erambo primed for starts vs Morocco
By Luke Oluoch, August 10, 2025Harambee Stars are set to take to the field in a crunch Group A tie against Morocco this Sunday, August 10, at the Moi Sports International Centre, Kasarani.
The clash slated for 3:00 pm will see Benni McCarthy’s charges seek a return to winning ways following a valiant 1-1 draw against Angola in their second group match on Thursday, August 7, 2025.
The draw left Kenya atop the pool on four points, one point above Morocco, who played one game less ahead of the encounter.
Kenya will be out to upend the North Africans and consolidate their chances of making it past the five-team Group A.
Potential changes
McCarthy is expected to make a few tactical alterations, with others being injury-informed.
The Kenyan coach on Saturday, August 9, 2025, spoke of maintaining their discipline, with his usual defensive approach set to feature prominently against an opponent that is tipped to rely heavily on counterattacking football.
Much is expected to remain the same as far as the team’s defensive shape goes; barring no injuries, goalkeeper Bryne Omondi, who has been the team’s last line of defence in the opening two games, will retain his slot between the posts.
The new Gor Mahia custodian has largely had a successful tournament, barring his glaring calamitous error that led to Kenya being reduced to ten men against Angola.
In defence, Daniel Sakari and Captain Abud Omar will fill the full-back slots, with the Gor defensive stalwarts of Alphonce Omija and Sylvester Owino paired at the heart of the defense.

Meanwhile, Mansu Suleiman, who has been outstanding in the holding midfield role, is expected to resume his place alongside Alpha Onyango.
Meanwhile, Chrispine Erambo, who mustered a powerful box-to-box performance following a substitute appearance against Angola, is among the star players tipped to start the clash. Erambo’s prospects for a start seem more certain with the unavailability of Marvin Nabwire. and if Angola’s ties come too soon for Mansur.
Despite pulling out with suspected knocks in the latter stages of the games, their withdrawals offered them needed rest and recharge ahead of the Moroccan test.
Masud Returns
Kenya will also be boosted by the return of Masud Juma, who missed the Angola clash with a knock. The striker is expected to line up alongside Austine Odhiambo, Edward Omondi, David Sakwa, and Ryan Ogam as the team’s attacking arsenal.
