Harambee Stars’ Oduor lauded after impressive outing against Colchester
Harambee Stars utility player Clarke Oduor was in superb form as he helped power Bradford City to a 2-1 victory over Colchester United.
Oduor scored – his first goal for the League Two side – and assisted as they claimed their vital victory of the season at Bradford Stadium. The other goal for Bradford was also scored by a new signing, Alex Pattison.
Meanwhile, Joe Taylor had handed Colchester United an early lead, and Oduor came close to equalising for the home side after a dazzling run, only for his left-footed strike to be saved by goalkeeper Owen Goodman.

Impressive Oduor
Oduor kept posing a threat on the Colchester backline, and his pinpoint cross found Alex Gillead down the left flank, who then crossed it for Andy Cook, but the Bradford forward was denied by the goalkeeper.
Oduor, who signed for the Bantams in July, scored to equalize for Bradford in the nine minutes added in the first half. He could have scored his second goal in the early stages of the second half, but his rasping half-volley was stopped by the crossbar.
Hughes happy
After impressing and scoring their first goals for the English side, Oduor and Pattison were praised by Mark Hughes.
“They (Pattison and Oduor) were excellent, along with the rest of the lads. As the season goes on, they will only get stronger.
“The crowd was great. They stayed with us and really got behind all of the lads. I could tell that they were really enjoying what they were seeing,” Hughes said in his post-match reaction.
Next for Oduor and his teammates is a trip to Stockport, and Hughes called for good preparation.
“Tuesday is an important fixture against a good team, and we have to prepare quickly. We have to be at our best. I sense we are enjoying how we are playing, and there is a real anticipation to get back out there,” he concluded.
