However, Olunga couldn’t find a way past Qatar’s goalkeeper in a one-on-one encounter. Just four minutes later, Ouma once again showcased his playmaking skills by setting up Masoud Juma for another clear-cut chance, but the forward was unable to beat the goalkeeper at the near post.

The Stars managed to break the deadlock in the 19th minute when a well-placed corner kick found Joseph Okumu, who rose high to head home the opening goal of the match.

However, their lead was short-lived as Eric Ouma conceded a penalty, leading to Hassan Al-Haydos equalizing for Qatar in the 34th minute.

Harambee Stars changes

In the second half, Harambee Stars introduced Ayub Timbe, Amos Nondi, and Duke Abuya in their quest to secure a victory.

As the match neared its conclusion, Michael Olunga, positioned freely on the right side, delivered a skillful left-footed pass to second-half substitute Nondi, who secured the winner for Kenya with a decisive goal.
