Harambee Stars’ CHAN hero Ryan Ogam secures move to Austria’s top tier
By Luke Oluoch, September 3, 2025Harambee Stars’ hero in the 2024 African Nations Championship Games, Ryan Ogam Rambok, has sealed a move to Austria’s top-tier side, Wolfsberger AC
Ogam’s move switch has been confirmed by his immediate club this Wednesday, September 3, 2025.
Move to Austria
“Tusker FC confirms that striker Ryan Wesley Ogam has completed a move to Austrian Bundesliga club Wolfsberger AC. The transfer marks an exciting new chapter for one of Kenya’s brightest young football talents,” a statement from the club read on Wednesday, September 3, 2025.
Ogam’s switch come after a stellar run in the continental championship, where he scored two goals in the competition en route to Kenya’s exit against Madagascar in the knockout stages.
The left-footed poacher also scored a goal that was controversially disallowed in the quarterfinal tie due to the absence of VAR.
The red-hot form of the Tusker FC hitman elicited speculations of a move away from the Ruaraka-based side, with his parents’ subsequent meeting with Gor Mahia deputy patron Elud Owalo fueling speculation of a potential move to the record Kenya Premier League champions.

He has, however, completed a move to the paid ranks, where he is set to join up with the Bundesliga outfit after the international window.
On the move
Speaking on the players, Wolfsberger AC President Dietmar Riegler noted that they were elated to have the player in their ranks after his standout performance with the national team.
“We are delighted to welcome Ryan to Wolfsberger AC. He is an exciting young striker with great potential, and we have followed his progress at Tusker FC with keen interest and his recent performance for his county with the national team, Harambee Stars,” he told Tusker FC.
Wolfberger FC, simply known as Wolves, competes in the Austrian top league and currently sits at sixth on the 12-team log with seven points from 5 games.
Founded in 1931, the team is located in the town of Wolfsberg, Southern Austria. It is currently coached by native Dietmar Kunhbauer. The team has established itself as a stable Bundesliga side in recent times and qualified for European competition on multiple occasions, most notably reaching the 2019–20 UEFA Europa League group stage after finishing third in the 2018–19 Bundesliga.
Most recently, the club saw its push for European football end against Greece’s PAOK, who defeated them 1-0 after extra time in the UEFA Europa League third qualifying round, after their first-leg 0-0 draw at home in the 2025/26 season.
