The Harambee Stars camp is bustling with new arrivals as the team intensifies its preparations for the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers.

Among the fresh faces is Tobias Knost, hailing from SV Verl in Germany, eagerly pursuing his first cap.

Adding to the roster, John Ochieng, currently playing for Zanaco in Zambia, has also landed in camp. Duke Abuya and Elvis Rupia, stationed in Tanzania, have made their presence known, along with Johnstone Omurwa based in Portugal, Alphonse Omija in Oman, and Amos Nondi representing Armenia.

With the clock ticking towards crucial matches against Burundi and Ivory Coast on June 7 and June 11, 2024, respectively, the team is gearing up for departure to Malawi, tentatively scheduled for Sunday, June 2, 2024.

Currently positioned third out of six in Group F of the 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers, the Harambee Stars have accrued three points from encounters with Gabon and Seychelles.

The stakes are high, with only the top team from the group, featuring formidable opponents like Ivory Coast, Gabon, Burundi, The Gambia, Seychelles, and Kenya, securing a direct berth to the 48-team World Cup.

However, there’s still a chance for advancement, as four of the best runners-up from the nine groups will contend in a playoff. This playoff will determine CAF’s representative in the Inter-confederation playoffs, involving six teams and deciding the last two FIFA World Cup berths.
