Harambee Starlets travelling squad named ahead of crucial Botswana clash

The travelling squad for Harambee Starlets has been announced for their trip to Gaborone for the second leg of the 2024 Women Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) against Botswana.
The head coach Beldine Odemba has finalized a 23-player squad for the match scheduled on Tuesday, December 5, 2023, in Gaborone, Botswana.

In the goalkeeping department, three keepers have been selected, with Annedy Kundu leading as the first-choice keeper in the qualifiers.
The defensive lineup comprises seven players, including Ruth Ingosi, Phoebe Owiti, Enez Mango, and Dorcas Shikobe.
The midfield also consists of seven players, featuring Corazone Aquino, Ketsia Ngaira, Marjolene Nekesa, Cynthia Shilwatso, and Sheryl Angachi.
The forward positions will be manned by Mwanalima Adam, Violet Nanjala, Airine Madalina, Elizabeth Wambui, Janet Bundi, and Rebecca Okwaro.

Harambee Starlets faced a 1-1 draw against Botswana in the first leg of the 2024 Africa Women’s Cup of Nations qualifier at Nyayo Stadium on Wednesday, November 29, 2023.
Keitumetse Dithembe scored for Botswana, while Marjolene Nekesa converted a penalty to equalize for Kenya before the halftime break. In the second half, Violet Wanjala missed a crucial chance to put Kenya in the lead.
The aggregate winner of the two-legged qualifier will secure a spot in the 2024 Women Africa Cup of Nations, marking Harambee Starlets’ second appearance in seven years.
The team departed for Botswana on Sunday, December 3, 2023, at 5 a.m. and is scheduled to return home on Wednesday, December 6, 2023.
