Two rising talents, Joy Kinglady and Fasila Odhiambo have earned their promotion to the Harambee Starlets squad for the decisive two-legged clash against Botswana’s Zebras in the 2024 Africa Women’s Cup of Nations (WAFCON) qualifiers, slated for November.

The Ulinzi Starlets duo are part of Coach Beldine Odemba’s 29-player squad that is expected to hit training ahead of the upcoming matches.

Harambee Starlets blend

This squad includes a mix of seasoned players who featured in the previous camp against Cameroon, with the notable return of Vihiga Queens’ Mercyline Wayodi and FK Apolonia Fier’s Lorna Nyarinda.

Additionally, the roster welcomes fresh faces, such as Kenya Police Bullets Goalkeeper Mishi Mbaru, Bungoma Queens Defender Centrine Wasike, and Kenya Police Bullets and Kibera Soccer Ladies Forwards Rebecca Okwaro and Nancy Atako.

Commencing their camp on Monday, November 20, 2023, the selected players are gearing up for the crucial encounter against Botswana in the 2024 WAFCON qualifiers.

A successful outcome in this round would secure Harambee Starlets’ qualification for the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, marking their second appearance in the tournament in seven years.

The opening leg is scheduled for Wednesday, November 29, 2023, with the return leg set to take place in Botswana on Tuesday, December 5, 2023.
