Why Gor Mahia’s McKinstry is not concerned by few goals scored

Gor Mahia‘s head coach Johnathan McKinstry is confident despite his team scoring few goals in recent Football Kenya Federation Premier League matches.
On Saturday, they scored just a goal as they managed a slim win against their season’s rivals Nairobi City Stars, at Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos.
McKinstry’s confidence comes from the fact that their goals are coming from different players and not just one scorer.
“We spread our goals within the team. Other teams score three, four, or five in one game, but I prefer to score one regularly.
“We have played against top teams like Tusker and Posta Rangers and won [against City Stars], and we came up with a victory, and that is what you need to win the title,” McKinstry told the press.
The goal in Machakos was scored by Benson Omala, who had endured a dry run.
“I have been working; the drought has ended, and now I want to keep scoring. I looked at the goalkeeper; the pass came with good pace, and I just had to give it direction,” the striker said when he scored his 10th goal of the season.
After the win, Gor Mahia’s tally rose to 47 points, eight points against the second-placed Posta Rangers.
