The Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Cup moves to the Round of 16 games in the coming weeks with three games pitting top-tier sides.

Shabana, Gor Mahia, Kenya Police, Bidco United, Ulinzi Stars, Kakamega Homeboyz, Murang’a Seal, Bandari, KCB, and Kariobangi Sharks are some of the KPL sides that will be featuring in Round 16 of the competition.

Police rode on Clinton Kinanga’s solo strike to dispatch National Super League side MOFA 1-0 on Saturday and continue their quest to defend the title.

Gor vs Bandari

Police FC will now face Kapenguria United FC in the Cup round of 16.

Gor Mahia will lock horns against Bandari FC in one of the three KPL clashes on cards.

Other games will see Shabana FC visit Kakamaga Homeboyz as Ulinzi Stars face off against Bidco United.

Homeboyz vs Shabana

Homeboyz proceeded to the round of 16 after edging Samitsi FC 1-0.

The Francis Baraza’s side faced it rough in the round of 32, needing a penalty shoot-out win against TBM but found their feet to dispatch the hugely followed Samitis FC side.

The fixture will go down as a potential revenge tie as Homeboyz look to avenge a 4-1 thrashing in their last league outing recently.

Shabana advanced after pipping Naivasha-based Plantech Kenya FC with a 5-1 hiding in Gusii stadium.

Brian Michira’s hat trick added to goals from Vincent Nyabuto and Moses Shikanda to secure passage for the Tore Bobe band.

Ingwe tie abandoned

Meanwhile, AFC Leopards and Mara Sugar tie await a decision from the League and Competitions Committee after the tie suffered a premature end.

The game was halted seven minutes from time after fans invaded the pitch after the referee ruled against awarding a penalty decision he had called initially.

Nairobi United, who made the round of 32 upset with a penalty shoot-out defeat to Tusker, will lead a contingent of five non-FKF Premier League teams advancing to the Round of 16.

Others in the group include Compel FC. Kibera Soccer, Kapenguria United and Denmark FC.
