FKF PL Week 5: Gor Mahia hope to return to winning ways as AFC Leopards eye first win
Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKF PL) week five matches will commence on Friday, September 29, 2023, with a game between Muhoroni Youth and Ulinzi Stars.
Ulinzi Stars, 15th on the log, will take their hunt for the second win in the season to Muhoroni Stadium. The hosts, on the other hand, are hoping to beat the visitors and claim their first victory of the campaign.
Sofapaka vs Nairobi City Stars
On Saturday, September 30, four matches have been lined up, with Nairobi City Stars playing Sofapaka at Kasarani Annex in one of the games.
Sofapaka, despite massive signings and a new head coach in charge, are at the bottom after losing three and drawing one in four of their starting games.
City Stars are 15th and will be looking for their second win of the season.
Nzoia Sugar will host Premier League debutants Murang’a Seal. After leading the table after the first two games, Seal have dropped to the eighth position after failing to pick up maximum points in their recent games.
Nzoia Sugar are in ninth place and are also hoping to register their second win of the season.
Police FC under a new coach, will host Bidco United at the Police Sacco Pavilion while Kariobangi Sharks and Posta Rangers clash at the Kasarani Annex.
The Rangers-Shark duel is expected to be a tough game given that both are in top form. The Mailmen have three wins and a draw and are at the top of the table with 10 points, while Sharks are third after winning two of their four matches in which the others ended in draws.
On Sunday, October 1, Bandari and Kakamega Homeboyz will clash at Mbaraki Stadium. The Dockers are sixth, and a win against Homeboyz will be a sure morale booster.
Hoemboyz, on the other hand, will hope to win and move into the top half.
Winless AFC Leopards
AFC Leopards are still looking for their first win of the season, and their next opponent are Shabana FC, with the game set to be played at Ulinzi Sports Complex.
The National Super League (NSL) champions have also struggled and are in 17th place. Ingwe are 13th after three draws, and a loss and a win on Sunday will go a long way in easing pressure on head coach Tom Juma.
After they were held by Homeboyz in the last game played at Bukhungu Stadium, Gor Mahia will hope to return to winning ways when they take on KCB FC.
Tusker, who are fifth with two wins, a draw, and a loss, will be hosted by Talanta FC at Ruaraka Sports Ground.
