Mombasa ODM celebrations

Meanwhile, in a statement shared on X on Sunday, September 14, 2025, ODM unveiled its preparations for a mega three-day celebration in Mombasa, promising a mix of politics, culture, and sports as part of the anniversary activities. The party said the events have been designed to draw in leaders, supporters, and the wider public from across the country.

“Satisfied with the arrangements of the mega event that will be held in Mombasa City for three days. Activities will include a football tournament and the main celebrations to be hosted at the Mama Ngina Waterfront,” the party added.

Earlier, ODM announced the postponement of its 20th anniversary celebrations in Mombasa, originally set for October 10–12, 2025. According to a press statement on Friday, October 3, the move aims to expand its outreach across more counties.

“Consequently, the final preparations and main event in Mombasa have been rescheduled to 14th to 16th November 2025,” the statement read in part.

“To date, the ODM@20 celebrations have been successfully hosted in Busia, Wajir, Kisii, and Narok counties. However, there remains a strong call from other regions across the country for us to extend this historic commemoration to their areas as well to enable those who cannot travel to Mombasa to be part of the fête,” the statement added.
