The Football Kenya Federation Premier League will enter matchday 18 on Saturday and Sunday as the season enters the new year at high speed.
After being humbled by the Kenya Police, Kakamega Homeboyz will hope to return to winning ways when they face Bandari at Bukhungu Stadium.
Bandari, who saw off Nzoia Sugar in their last match, will fight for another win that will boost their hopes of going above Nairobi City Stars and pile pressure on Gor Mahia.
At Thika Stadium, Bidco United, who were beaten by a margin of 3-0 by Sofapaka, will host Police.
The final game of Saturday, which will go live on TV, will see Gor Mahia battle Kariobangi Sharks. K’Ogalo will hope to keep their unbeaten run and maintain a seven-point gap at the top, while the Sharks will be keen to win and give their season a new lease of life.
Both Tusker and Sofapaka will go into their next fixture with renewed optimism as both registered big wins in their year-opening games.
Tusker were 17 big winners on matchday 17b after beating KCB 5-0, and the victory thrust them into position five.
Renewed Tusker, Sofapaka
On the other hand, Batoto ba Mungu looked like a renewed side and gave their new head coach Zedekiah ‘Zico’ Otieno a victory in his first game.
Although Tusker represent a formidable challenge, Zico and his side will hope to successfully beat them and break into the top 15.
After winning their third match of the season, AFC Leopards will be hosted by Muhoroni Youth. This is a crucial game for both sides, who are in dire need of points.
Both were also winners in the previous games, as Youth oversaw Shabana at the Raila Odinga Stadium in Homabay. Ulinzi Stars were beaten by Ingwe at Nyayo Stadium.
Nzoia Sugar will be home to Shabana, while in-form City Stars will face Posta Rangers.
Murang’a Seal and FC Talanta are scheduled to meet at the former’s turf while under pressure Stars and KCB clash at the Sports Complex in Lang’ata.
