Friends School Kamusinga secures key victories in Lukos basketball league
Friends School Kamusinga (FSK) dominated the second edition of the Lukos Energy Basketball League (LEBL), the pioneering competitive basketball league in Western Kenya, by defeating BC Hoopers and Chetambe Bulls 55-52 and 52-36, respectively.
The twin victories bagged during the LEBL Uplands Conference, held in Bungoma County, place FSK on par with Kisumu-based Maseno Dukes and Raiders basketball clubs from the league’s Victoria Conference, which features ten teams from the Nyanza region.
The Uplands Conference includes twelve teams from Western and Rift Valley regions.
Results from the second edition of the LEBL, released yesterday by the league’s Western Kenya coordinator, Brian Lusaga, indicate that FSK dominated the Uplands Conference with their weekend wins.
Lusaga noted that the LEBL, established by Lukos Energy—a local petroleum company led by Elekiah Anguko—aims to address the lack of a competitive league in Western Kenya.
The league provides a structured platform to tap into raw talent from Nyanza, Western, and Rift Valley grassroots areas and offers exposure to top-flight basketball for the region’s youth and players.
