APS Bomet striker Hansel Ochieng has boasted of his impressive goal-scoring run against Gor Mahia, stating that playing against the team has been his favourite fixture.

Speaking after dispatching a sensational hat-trick to condemn Gor to a 4-1 defeat on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, at the Nyayo National Stadium, Ochieng stated he was only doing what was expected of him.

The victory marked the second time the record FKF Premier League tasted a defeat in the league this season after opening their campaign on a loss to Bidco United.

Gor shrugged off the false start to record a remarkable run of unbeaten streaks that was ultimately snapped by the league’s newbies.

“Playing against Gor Mahia has always been a good fixture for me. It is not the first time I have scored against them. This is my favourite fixture,” he opined.

Hansel, who just denied a hat trick after the third goal was struck off as his after being rendered following a rival player claiming a telling final touch to render it an own goal, was still elated that he got the goals to boost his team and help them to arguably their best win in the top-flight history so far.

“It’s a good thing when you score and better when it enables the team to get maximum points. The team comes first,” he stated while expressing his elation.

The striker has further expressed confidence that the victory can inspire the team to kickstart their quest for survival after enduring a spate of inconsistent results.

The win over Gor marked the second time Benedict Wanjala’s charges picked up maximum points in the league, coming after 11 rounds of matches.

“It is a good feeling we have put a statement out there that we are a bad team. We hope this win can enable us to move forward and put the lesson we have learned into use and push the team,” he added.

During the tie, K’Ogalo started brightly and drew first blood just five minutes into the contest through Ghanaian forward George Amonoo, who calmly found the back of the net to give the Charles Akonnor men an early advantage.

Oching, however, came out clutch with his quick-fire goals, seeing the club turn the match to its end just before the breather.

The win was completed in the second half when the club got their third and fourth goals.
