FKF unveils Ksh1.3 billion broadcast deal for local Premier League

The Football Kenya Federation (FKF) has unveiled a significant broadcast agreement valued at Ksh 1.3 billion in partnership with Tanzanian media company Azam Media Limited.

This extensive collaboration is set to span seven years, with an initial season worth Ksh 145,300,000 and a subsequent season increment of 10%.

FKF PL to have four matches

As part of this arrangement, Azam Media will broadcast four matches in every round through their Pay TV and Digital platforms.

At the launch event, FKF President Nick Mwendwa expressed his deep appreciation to Azam Media for their commitment to advancing the Kenyan football league and the sport as a whole.

“We thank Azam Media for agreeing to partner with us. This partnership will go a long way in improving the visibility of the league and in the long run, making our league even more competitive,” Mwendwa said.

He further emphasized the Federation’s unwavering dedication to fostering the growth of Kenyan football.

FKF eyes more partnerships

He reiterated their intention to forge additional partnerships with like-minded companies to enhance the league’s commercial value.

“As a Federation, we remain committed to the development of Kenyan football and as such, we shall continue seeking partnerships with like-minded companies with a view of increasing the commercial value of the league,” Mwendwa added.

While Mwendwa did not disclose the exact figures regarding how much clubs will benefit from this partnership, he did confirm that negotiations are in progress, and a comprehensive announcement will follow.

Mwendwa assured that this deal would usher in a substantial increase in earnings for the clubs, surpassing any previous financial gains.

He further mentioned that the specific details of this arrangement would be revealed in the coming days, and he expressed his belief that this agreement represents a remarkable opportunity for clubs, perhaps the most lucrative deal they could have ever imagined.

Azam Media LTD, a Media and Production company specializing in Direct Home (DTH), Digital Terrestrial Television (DTT), and Over the Top (OTT) platforms, has also allocated Azam Sports 4 HD to showcase Kenyan football content.

This collaboration is poised to bring a new level of exposure and recognition to Kenyan football on both national and international scales.
