By , November 25, 2025

Record Kenyan Premier League champions Gor Mahia will be out to stretch their lead at the summit of the table when they welcome newbies APS Bomet FC for a rescheduled league fixture at the Nyayo National Stadium on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, starting at 4:00 pm local time.

At the same time, Charles Akonnor’s men will seek to extend their winning streak further after beating Tusker FC by a solitary goal on Saturday, November 22, 2025, at Kasarani Stadium. Ahead of the APS Bomet encounter, K’Ogalo lead the rest of the pack with 19 points in eight matches, a point above second-placed Kakamega Homeboyz, who have played two more matches.

Omondi in top form

Meanwhile, Gor Mahia goalkeeper Brynne Omondi delivered another composed performance against the Brewers. Speaking to the club’s media after the match, the Harambee Stars goalie praised the collective effort that secured the crucial win.

Reflecting on the encounter, Omondi acknowledged the intensity of the battle and the quality of the opposition.

“The game was tough. The opponents gave us a hard time because Tusker is also a big team. Everybody is fighting for a positive result, but the good thing is that we eased the pressure by getting the maximum points,” he said.

Omondi, who has grown in confidence this season, credited the strong unity within the goalkeeping department and the defensive unit for the team’s resilience.

“As keepers, we are really pushing each other, and the backline has been very good. They protect me from a lot of shots and action. It’s all about the team spirit and how we push each other.”

The goalkeeper also took time to appreciate the supporters who turned up in numbers and created an electric atmosphere throughout the match. “The fans are a big factor. They keep pushing us to victory,” he added.

Maintaining top spot

With the Tusker win, Gor Mahia extended their unbeaten run to seven matches and holds firmly to the top position on the league table. Omondi’s leadership and composure between the posts continue to be a key pillar as the team builds momentum in the title race.

Tuesday’s win for Gor Mahia will be a morale booster ahead of this season’s first leg Mashemeji Derby on Saturday, November 29, 2025, at Nyayo National Stadium, where Charles Akonnor will lead his men against AFC Leopards for the first time as head coach.
