Kenya’s school ball games teams, competing in the 21st edition of the East Africa Schools Championship in Uganda, excelled, securing victories against the hosts.

The national boys’ rugby 15’s champions, Embu’s All Saints’, narrowly defeated Uganda’s Mary’s Kisubi 24-23.

On the second day of the EA games, another Kenyan team, the Western regional Hawks Butula, decisively thwarted the Ugandan school team King’s College 60-0.

Nairobi-based Lenana High School edged out Uganda’s Namilyango 10-7 in a rugby 15’s game played at the Mbale Rugby Union grounds, while Kitondo Secondary overcame Uganda’s Makerere 16-10.

In basketball, Homabay County’s Agoro Sare High School narrowly defeated Uganda’s Amus College boys’ team 56-54, and ITS Gasogi School from Rwanda triumphed over Hope SS from Uganda 72-60 at Amus College School stadium.

In girls’ volleyball, Kwanthanze Secondary from Kenya beat Rwanda’s St. Aloys 3-0 (25-13, 25-18, and 25-12) at the Mbale Cricket Grounds.

In girls’ football, Uganda’s St. Noah defeated Tanzania’s Tanzanite School 2-0, held at Amus College School.

Kenyan teams also excelled in boys’ handball, with Kimilili dispatching Uganda’s Kibuli Secondary, while Moi Girls struggled, losing 24-31 to Kibuli.

In boys’ handball, Uganda’s Bombo Army defeated Tanzania’s Bunda Secondary 22-18.

In the girls’ category, Tanzania’s Njombe SS fell 21-27 to Uganda’s Kawanda SS at Bukedea Primary School in Mbale, Eastern Uganda.

In another boys’ handball game, Tanzania’s Magnus SS overcame Ntare Secondary School, and in the girls’ category, Kenya’s Murinduko SS drew 22-22 with Uganda’s Gombe SS, also at Bukedea Primary School, on the second day of the 21st edition of the Federation of East African Secondary Schools Sports Association (FEASSA) games in Mbale, Uganda.
