Double win for Highway School after beating Kisumu Day

Highway Secondary secured their spot in today’s final after beating Kisumu Day in post-match penalties to book a place in the East Africa Secondary Schools Sports Association Games in Tanzania.
Highway took an early lead in the first half through Andreas Odhiambo who beat Tom Onyango at the near post before seeing his shot saved minutes later.
In the second half, Kisumu Day came in guns blazing with an attacking display before being rewarded with a goal in the 64th minute through Veron Okeyo who beat three defenders before slotting home.
They, however, missed several chances to kill the game forcing into a 1-1 draw with fatigue being witnessed in both teams during the Added Extra Time.
In the shootout, Highway converted all their spot kicks with Tom Onyango of Kisumu Day seeing his shot saved before Boko Elvis shot wide of the post to condemn them to a 4-2 defeat.
In Basketball, Kaya Tiwi Girls stormed into the finals after recording an impressive win against Ototo Mixed Secondary at the ongoing National Secondary School games picking up 64 points against 49.
Olympic Girls recorded a narrow win in a hotly contested match against Tigoi Girls picking up 50 points against 48 to set up a thrilling final today.
In volleyball, Kisegon Girls defeated Martha Mwitoto 3 sets to 1 whereas Kwanthanze AIC Secondary won the match 3 sets to 0 against Nyakongo Girls.
