As defending champions Kabras Sugar seek to bounce back after what appears to be a difficult season for the Sugar Millers, KCB Rugby will be keen to stretch their winning streak in the National Sevens Circuit in Kisumu at the weekend.
The Bankers claimed their third 2025 7s title this season after beating first-time finalists Daystar 20-10 to win the Kabeberi 7s at the RFUEA Grounds on Sunday, September 7, 2025. Sunday’s win marks the Thika Road-based side’s fourth consecutive Kabeberi Sevens win: 2022, 2023, 2024 and now 2025.
On their way to the final, Daystar had been on a very good upward trajectory throughout the season, qualifying for their first-ever National Sevens Circuit final.
They topped their pool by beating the Catholic Monks 24-12, edging Homeboyz 15-07 before sealing off their day with a 25-12 win over MMUST.
KCB, on the other hand, kicked off their day with a 54-00 win over Mean Machine, survived a narrow scare from Nakuru by beating them 21-15, and wrapped up their day with a 31-00 win over Mombasa.
In the Cup Quarterfinals, KCB confirmed their slot in the semis after beating Mwamba 35-07, while Daystar edged out Menengai Oilers 24-19.
