Commonwealth Games: Ferdinand Omanyala sails to semis

100M African record holder, Ferdinand Omanyala has absolutely shuttered heat 5 of the Birmingham Commonwealth 100M race with a first place finish of 10.08 seconds.

Omanyala who had quite a challenging outing in the Oregon World Athletics Championships is out to hunt for redemption. The African champion bowed out in the semifinals of the championships with a disappointing finish of 5th place.

Omanyala is now through to the Commonwealth games 100M semifinals as well as South African Akani Simbine who cleared heat 2 with a first place finish of 10.10 seconds.
