Cheche confident as Starlets intensify WCQ training
Junior Starlets have intensified their training ahead of their FIFA U17 World Cup women’s qualifying match against DR Congo.
In what is seen as a big boost for head coach Mildred Cheche, all the players called up have reported to the training camp. The tactician is confident ahead of the qualifier against their DR Congo rivals.
“We have a good team that can compete against DR Congo.
“The girls came in ready, having previously been active in different tournaments like Talanta Hela and Chapa Dimba, which is a plus for the team preparations,” Cheche said, as quoted by the FA’s website.
The first leg action will be played on Sunday, February 4, 2024, before the Starlets travel on February 2 ahead of the second leg meeting, which is scheduled for Sunday, February 11, 2024.
Should Kenya win the two-legged clash, they will proceed to the third round.
