Cereals ace Sangoro headed to coaching after retirement

National Cereals and Produce Board (NCPB) veteran Thodosia Sangoro has hinted at retiring from handball, 19 years after featuring in Kenya’s top-tier handball league.
Speaking exclusively to People Daily, Sangoro expressed no regrets but was thankful for his journey.
“I am thinking of retirement now. At 36 years I feel that moment coming as my body can no longer do things that I used to do some years back, whichever way my journey is coming to a close as a player and have already started my next phase,” said Sangoro.
His transition from player to coach is currently taking shape successfully following Queens’ triumphal during the East Africa Club championships in Zanzibar last year where he previously won a trophy as the most valuable player for a record five times.
From an ordinary estate boy, to a successful athlete years later, Sangoro has witnessed some of his idols fall from glory to grass and now is a serious campaigner for safeguarding mental health among handball players.
He attributed his well-being to having proper confidants .
whom he can talk to when life takes a tumble and mentors to guide him when life smiles back at him.
