CAF Women’s Champions League CECAFA qualifiers fixtures released
By Joel Masibo, August 28, 2025The official schedule for the 2025 CAF Women’s Champions League CECAFA Qualifiers has been confirmed. The competition will take place in Nairobi between September 4 and September 16, 2025, with matches set for Nyayo National Stadium and the Ulinzi Sports Complex.
The country’s representatives at the tournament, reigning FKF Women’s Premier League champions, Kenya Police Bullets, have been drawn in Pool A and will start their campaign on Thursday, September 4, 2025, against Uganda’s Kampala Queens at Nyayo Stadium from 4:00 pm.
Their second outing comes on Tuesday, September 9, 2025, starting at 3:00 pm, also at Nyayo National Stadium, where they will face Eritrea’s Denden FC. The Bullets, who finished runners-up in last year’s edition, are determined to capitalise on home support as they push for a spot in this year’s continental finals.
Group compositions
Group A: Kenya Police Bullets (Kenya), Denden FC (Eritrea), Kampala Queens (Uganda)
Group B: Commercial Bank of Ethiopia (Ethiopia), Top Girls Academy (Burundi), Rayon Sports Women (Rwanda)
Group C: JKT Queens (Tanzania), Yei Joint Stars (South Sudan), JKU Princess (Zanzibar)

The top team from each pool will advance to the semi-finals, joined by the best second-placed side across all groups. The semi-final clashes are scheduled for September 13 at Ulinzi Complex, with games kicking off at 12:30 pm and 3:30 pm. The third-place playoff will be staged at Nyayo Stadium on September 16 at noon, followed by the grand finale later that day from 3:00 pm.
This marks the second time the qualifiers are being staged in Kenya, the first being in 2019 when Vihiga Queens emerged champions. With Kenya Police Bullets leading the nation’s charge this year, local fans will be eager to see if they can secure qualification for the CAF Women’s Champions League.
Hosting the CECAFA qualifiers for the second time highlights Kenya’s growing stature in women’s football. The return of the tournament offers another opportunity to showcase talent, inspire the next generation, and build on the legacy that began with former league champions Vihiga Queens’ triumph in 2021.
