CAF launches volunteer programme for AFCON 2025 in Morocco

The Confédération Africaine de Football (“CAF”) and Local Organising Committee (“LOC”) in Morocco have launched the official Volunteer Programme of the CAF Africa Cup of Nations Morocco 2025.

In a statement released on Friday, September 19, 2025, the African football governing body also maintained that the CAF Africa Cup of Nations Morocco 2025 will be staged between 21 December 2025 and 18 January 2026 in six cities and nine stadiums across Morocco.

CAF said the process of having this year’s volunteers at AFCON will be active until early October.

”The TotalEnergies CAF AFCON Morocco 2025 Volunteer Programme registration period will be open until 08 October 2025,” the statement said.

Volunteer requirements and benefits

According to CAF requirements, anyone over the age of 18 years is eligible to apply to be part of the volunteer program.

”CAF and the Local Organising Committee are preparing for one of the biggest TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations, attracting millions of visitors during the December and January period. Around 4000 Volunteers will be selected to support the competition’s various functional areas, which include media operations, spectator services, accreditation, hospitality, fans’ welcome and support and more,” the statement added.

Underpinned by its objective of laying a solid foundation for the creation of an alumni network of highly skilled Africans, the Volunteer Programme will afford successful applicants:

  • Professional training and development of valuable skills.
  • To be part of the behind-the-scenes team delivering Africa’s premier sporting event.
  • To build friendships and networks with fellow volunteers and professionals.
  • To receive official uniforms and certificates of participation.

Ahead of the tournament, selected volunteers will receive comprehensive training within their assigned functional areas, while being guided by CAF’s core values of integrity, professionalism and discipline.

CAF AFCON Morocco 2025 Volunteer Programme key Dates:

  • Volunteer Registration Launch: 17 September 2025
  • Volunteer Selection & Training: October 2025 – November 2025
  • Tournament Operations:  mid-December 2025 – 18 January 2026

Meanwhile, the opening game of AFCON 2025 is set for 21 December at Rabat’s Complexe Sportif Prince Moulay Abdellah, which will also stage the final on January 18, 2026. The Kingdom hosts AFCON for the first time in 37 years, returning to the centre stage after staging recent CAF events with acclaim.

Defending champions Côte d’Ivoire arrive as the team to beat, while Egypt — the tournament’s most decorated side with seven titles — chase an eighth crown.
