Western regional schools netball defending champions Bukokholo Girls, who were banned for one year for fielding an ineligible and overage player as Bumala AC, proceeded to thrash Mwitoti Girls 73-16 in the region’s girls’ final to be crowned netball queens

Similarly, Bukokholo Girls’ netball coach, Mary Walubengo, has also been banned from participating in any Kenya Secondary Schools Sports Association (KSSSA) games and activities.

Contacted for comment by People Sport, the disgraced Bukokholo netball coach Walubengo was evasive about the humiliation, disqualification, and ban imposed on Bukokholo Girls Secondary School.

She declined to answer press questions.

Undeterred, People Sport established over the weekend that Bukokholo Girls was banned from the regional games following a successful petition filed with the regional games disputes jury by Bumala AC, which accused the netball defending champions of fielding an ineligible and overage player during the regional netball games.

The region’s school games secretary, Quinto Omusugu, confirmed in an interview with People Sport that the Western regional Kenya Secondary Schools Sports Association (KSSSA) committee imposed a one-year ban on Bukokholo Girls following the petition lodged by Bumala AC.
