Bett eyes Austria Marathon title after regional success

Half marathon: Reigning 1,500m EALSCA champion Amos Bett turns his focus to Austria half marathon in Viena slated for 19th March.

Bett won in 1500m at the 8th edition of East Africa Local Authorities Sports and Cultural Association games (EALASCA) at Kipchoge Keino stadium in Eldoret. Naivasha based runner said that he used the race as preparation for the forth coming world event.

“ I was running at EALSCA games  to gauge my speed at training and to prepare myself for Austria half marathon this month .” said Bett, who is under Run2gether management.

Bett emerged the winner in 1500m clocking  3:53:00 followed in a distance by Gilbert Sang timed 4:18.02 while Isaiah Misejieki was placed third timing 5:13.05 as Kiprono Kibono clocked 6.31.00 to close the top four.

In 1500m women Caroline Kilonzo was the winner clocking 5.44.00 ahead of Naomi Chebichi timed 6.04.02 followed in third by Carawne mainah clocking 6.50.00. In 400m men Philemon Koinari clocked 50.80 followed by Uganda’s Nsiboka Harona timing 1.01.50 while Peter Adika of Kenya closed the top three clocking 1.06.50. In other games Uganda defeated Kenya B 1-0 in football men in the ongoing EALSCA.
