Bandari FC unveil Moroccan Mohammed Borji as new head coach
By Luke Oluoch, October 6, 2025Football Kenya Premier League side Bandari FC has unveiled coach Mohammed Borji as the new head coach, days after relieving Ken Odhiambo of his duties.
The Moroccan coach was presented to the media on Monday, October 6, 2025, at Mbaraki Sports Club.
New dawn
“Ladies and Gentlemen, A new dawn is upon us, introducing our new head Coach, Mohammed Borji,” a statement from the club said.
The 44-year-old, who holds a B coaching licence, takes over after agreeing to a one-year contract.
He will be assisted by his compatriot Taril Bendamou.

A former striker, Borji played for prominent Moroccan clubs like Wydad Casablanca, FAR Rabat, and Difaa El Jadida. He transitioned into coaching following his retirement in 2015.
His debut task came in the Renaissance Merambra in the 2019/20 season as an assistant coach. He was later promoted to an interim coach a season later.
At the Coastal Club, he will be tasked with improving the fortunes of the KPL side, which has regressed to mid-table obscurity in recent years in Kenya’s top flight.
His first league tie will come in the shape of AFC Leopards after the FIFA International break.
Odhiambo shown the door
Bandari’s head coach position fell vacant after the management elected to part ways with Ken Odhiambo after the opening two matches.
Odhiambo failed to record a single win. The team salvaged a point away against Kariobangi Sharks in the opener before losing to Shabana FC on their second tie at home.
Following Odhiambo’s dismissal, John Baraza took charge on an interim basis.
The change of management proved timely as he inspired the Dockers to beat Murang’a Seal for their first league win of 2025, season on Saturday, October 4, 2025.
Goals from Hamza Mubarak, Geoffrey Ojunga, and Joseph Otieno lifted the team to fifth place in the standings with four points.
