AFC Leopards raise millions from Mashemeji Derby

AFC Leopards once again reaped big during the highly anticipated Mashemeji Derby against Gor Mahia FC on Saturday.

The match, which unfolded at Moi International Stadium Kasarani, saw Gor Mahia FC clinch a 2-0 victory and drew an impressive crowd of over 12,000 enthusiastic fans.

The club has now disclosed the remarkable figures behind this successful event, indicating a significant boost in their revenue.

According to AFC Leopards, they managed to sell a total of 12,172 tickets for the game, resulting in an impressive income of Ksh 2,838,300.

A total of 60 VVIP tickets were sold at Ksh 1,000 each, accumulating Ksh 60,000. The club sold 666 VIP tickets at a price of Ksh 500 each, amassing Ksh 333,000.

Priced at Ksh 300 each, 1,561 regular tickets were sold, totalling Ksh 468,300 and the club garnered a substantial sum of Ksh 1,977,000 from the sale of 9,885 flash sale tickets, each priced at Ksh 200.

In their announcement, AFC Leopards expressed their gratitude for the unwavering support they received from fans during the match.

“We hosted Gor Mahia FC on Saturday at Moi International Sports Centre, Kasarani A total of 12,172 tickets were sold for the match VVIP ➡️ 60, VIP ➡️ 666, Terrace A (300/=)➡️ 1,561, Terrace B (Flash sale) ➡️ 9,885. We collected a total of 2,838,300/= Thank you for the support,” the club announced.

AFC Leopards earn more

From the derby, AFC Leopards raised Ksh1,412,000 more than what they got in their 1-1 draw against Shabana. In the Shabana match, Ingwe collected Ksh 1,426,300.

This match marked the second instance in which AFC Leopards employed the new E-ticketing system, following its debut during their previous fixture against Shabana.

The club has reiterated its commitment to utilizing this technology in all their home matches, believing that it will ultimately benefit both the club and its loyal supporters.
