6 Gor Mahia players earning national team call-ups leaves McKinstry purring
Gor Mahia head coach, Johnathan McKinstry, has expressed his delight at witnessing several of his young players receiving national team call-ups.
The emerging talents from Gor Mahia, namely Paul Ochuoga, Joshua Onyango, and Mark Shaban, have been named in the provisional squad for the Kenya U20 team.

Senior team players Benson Omala, Rooney Onyango, and Shariff Musa have earned spots in the Harambee Stars senior squad.
McKinstry praised the players’ achievements and stated it reflects positively on the club’s efforts to nurture promising talents
“It is really good, and beyond that, we had another three in the U20 national team. Paul Ochuoga, Joshua Onyango, and Mark Shaban all called into that,” McKinstry told Gor Mahia TV.
“To have six players involved between the senior and the U20 national team reflects very well on their work ethic and their development as players, but also as a club, it shows the types of players we are trying to bring in.”
He further emphasized the youthfulness of the selected players demonstrates Gor Mahia’s commitment to developing a youthful and dynamic team for the future.
“It is also not as though they are our older players; Benson and Rooney are only 22, and Shariff is 22, so it is all our young players. It shows our commitment to developing a young and exciting team here at Gor,” he concluded.
The six are in camp preparing to play in the Four Nations tournament.
