Harambee Stars midfielder Richard Odada has joined Danish Club Aalborg BK on a loan deal from Philadelphia Union.
The Danish First Division side has announced that the Kenyan International will be with the club for a season with his deal having a buy option at the end of the loan deal.

“AaB has, for the remainder of the current season, secured the loan of central midfielder Richard Odada from Major Soccer League club Philadelphia Union. The agreement includes a purchase option,” the club announced.
“The physically strong player primarily operates in central midfield but can also cover positions in central defence,” the club added.
Odada will wear jersey number 16 at AaB and he looking forward to continuing his career in Denmark.
“I am happy to be in a historic club like AaB, and I will do my best to help the team have a good season. I have already seen that AaB has a beautiful stadium and good training facilities, so I’m excited to get started and work hard.
“As a player, I am defensive-minded and have often been positioned in central midfield as a defensive midfielder. My strength lies in winning the ball and quickly distributing it forward to create counterattacks. That’s what I hope to contribute to AaB as well,” Odada revealed.

AaB’s Sports Director, Ole Jan Kappmeier on his part said they have happy to land Odada, a player they have trailed for a while.
“We’ve been interested in Richard Odada for some time, and we’re pleased that an agreement has now been reached with Philadelphia Union. Richard is a player strong in duels and aerial play, with his primary strengths lying in defense, where he is adept at protecting the backline. At the same time, he possesses good technical skills with the ball. We see him as an excellent addition to our squad.”
The 22-year-old has found himself surplus in terms of playing time at the MLS club, where there is a limitation on the number of foreign players.
Odada has represented Kenya in five A-level international matches and two U-20 international matches. He played in the Serbian league from 2019 to 2022.
