Reactions to Raila’s manifesto launch in Addis

Reactions are expected to former premier Raila Odinga’s manifesto launch in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia on Friday, November 8, 2024, for his bid for the chairmanship of the African Union Commission (AUC).

While the elections will be held during the AU summit in February 2025, Raila officially launched his continental campaigns in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia ahead of an intensified campaign across the continent.

Top of Raila’s agenda was opening Africa to Africans by abolishing visa requirements to spur business.

Similarly, Raila called for the renewal of African unity to achieve some of the development agenda that has seemed elusive from independence.

“My leadership will be pegged on the dreams of our forefathers who expected that by now, Africa would roar in one united voice,” Raila remarked, “We will not put anything on the agenda if we know it will not be implemented.”

Weekend football action

The November 9, 2024 weekend will host some exciting football action, including a clash between first-placed Liverpool and sixth-placed Aston Villa at 11:00 pm. Villa has only lost two matches, while Liverpool has lost only one.

The other matches lined up on Saturday are Wolves vs Southampton, Westham vs Everton, Brentford vs Bournemouth, all starting at 6:00 pm and Brighton vs Manchester City at 8:30 pm.
