Wiper party answers ODM back over Raila’s health claims
By Luke Oluoch, October 5, 2025Kalonzo Musyoka’s Wiper Patriotic Front Party has fired back at the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM), warning the party to stop dragging its leader’s name into Raila Odinga’s health issues.
In a strongly worded statement this Sunday, October 5, 2025, moments after the Orange party accused the opposition of spreading misinformation on Raila’s health, Wiper dismissed the assertions, citing ODM’s engagement in the very practice they accused their counterparts of.
“The latest outburst by the ODM Party through its surrogates over imagined ‘misinformation on the health of Raila Odinga’ is nothing short of political theatre, an act of desperation from a once respected movement that has lost both its moral compass and political relevance,” the party said.

The party has instead urged the veteran party to focus on fixing their in-house issues with Kenya Kwanza.
“Let it be stated clearly: H.E. Kalonzo Musyoka harbours no ill will whatsoever towards Mr Odinga. The two leaders share a long public history of cooperation and mutual respect. Any suggestion that HE Kalonzo Musyoka wishes harm upon Raila is malicious, reckless, and utterly false. ODM’s attempt to drag Kalonzo Musyoka into its internal confusion is a weak distraction from the cracks splitting the so-called Broad-Based Government they now defend so blindly,” its statement read.
According to the Kalonzo-led party, ODM has noticed it is standing on the precipice after entering an infamous relationship with William Ruto’s government, a regime notorious for abuses of human rights and abductions of youths.”

The party have therefore challenged their counterparts to sort out their issue without dragging Kalonzo into it.
“No one and absolutely no one will drag HE Kalonzo Musyoka into their self-inflicted political decay. Kalonzo Musyoka remains committed to justice, truth, and a Kenya that values life and liberty over expediency, money, and power,” it added.
Wiper’s response comes after ODM released a statement on Sunday, October 5, 2025, accusing the opposition politicians of attempting to misinform the public on Raila’s whereabouts and health condition.
ODM fires at the Opposition
In the statement released, Raila’s party blamed the political faction led by impeached former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, alongside Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka and DAP-K’s Eugene Wamalwa, for being behind the ongoing rumours about Odinga’s health.
“The political formation of impeached former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua and his struggling team of Kalonzo Musyoka and Eugene Wamalwa, among others, are on a familiar campaign of misinformation on the health of former Prime Minister and ODM Party Leader Raila Odinga,” ODM stated.
