Western Kenya coaches laud Manoah and co

Western Kenya-based football coaches Edward Manoah, Francis Xavier and Tom Tera have received praise from their peers for nurturing a lot of talent from the region. 

Kakamega Homeboyz coach Nicholas Muyoti and former Western Stima  star Ramadhan Balala have lauded the trio for leading from the front when it comes to football development in western Kenya.

Balala, who played under Manoah during his days at AFC Leopards revealed that the current Vihiga Bullets coach has done commendable work that cannot go unnoticed. 

“His sacrifices and passion for football has borne more fruit and he is on the right course in assisting individual players as well as clubs.

He has done it before and proved this at Chemelil, Leopards, Kakamega Homeboyz, Vihiga United among others,” said Balala of Manoah’s work.

He added: “Manoah is a true soccer legend. He made some of us what we are and is still doing the same to many other young players.

It is good for the football industry and we appreciate the efforts.”

His sentiments were echoed by Muyoti, who played under Manoah at Leopards and was made captain by the veteran tactician before being encouraged to venture into coaching.

Muyoti also singled out his former Leopards team-mates Tera and Xavier for praise.

Reached for comment, Manaoh was glad to see his efforts being recognised by his students, saying it gives him more motivation to work even harder. “We cannot just sit and see talents going to waste.

We have to sacrifice and assist these youngsters realise their dreams, but at the same time, all this work needs support from all the stakeholders,” said Manoah.
