Wamuchomba defends Kalonzo against Ruto’s onslaught on dusty roads to his home
By Joel Masibo, December 19, 2025Githunguri Member of Parliament (MP) Gathoni Wamuchomba has defended the Wiper Patriotic Front Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka, against the latest attack by President William Ruto on infrastructure development.
Speaking during the handover of the Affordable Housing units in Mukuru Kwa Njenga estate on Thursday, December 18, 2025, Ruto revived his attack on the former vice president for lacking vision for the country, linking him to the poor state of the roads and infrastructure in his Tseikuru village in Kitui County, despite serving in different state positions for decades.
Taking a swipe at the former Vice President, Ruto insinuated that if the United Opposition chief could not develop his own town, he cannot take Kenya to the next level amid the renewed Singapore dream, where the government is working around the clock to drag the country from third-world to first-world class through infrastructural development.
Ruto’s attack on Kalonzo
”Akajaribu kujitetea. Akasema Ruto amesema mimi nimekuwa uongozi miaka 50 lakini si hivyo nimekuwa miaka 40. Wacha naomba msamaha pengine sio 50 ni 40 na hiyo 40 years barabara bado ni vumbi, unahitaji miaka ngapi ndio utengeneza barabara ya kuenda kwako? Bado nangojea majibu, hajanijibu. Barabara ya kuenda kwako umeshindwa, ya kuenda Ethiopia ndio utapanga?” Ruto posed.
Responding to Ruto’s scathing attack on Kalonzo over failure to develop roads in his rural home, the Githunguri MP has likened Kalonzo Muyoka’s case to her own. Taking to X on Friday, December 19, 2025, Wamuchomba said she has also overseen the development of roads in other places, but the road leading to her estate is dusty, adding that it is a sign of the decision to serve others over oneself.

”I live in an estate full of dust for over 8 years since I was elected. I was the Vice Chair of the Roads Committee in parliament. I allocated funds for Mau Mau roads in my county, Kiambu, and others and even in my neighbourhood estate,” she said.
”But the link road to my House is murram dusty to date. I have tarmacked many roads, but mine will be the last. The road to Kalonzo Tseikuru’s home is dusty; he may have chosen to serve others first when he was in office, and that is leadership. Anybody bashing him over this clearly shows who they are ~ selfish.” Wamuchomba added.
