Kakamega voter files petition questioning credibility of Malala’s degree certificate

A complaint has been filed before the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) dispute tribunal challenging the clearance of Senator Cleophas Malala to vie for the Kakamega governor seat.
The complainant, Felix Ongadi, claims that Malala does not hold a degree.
“That the nomination was improper because the genesis of Malala’s degree certificate and KCSE has not been resolved,” the complaint reads in parts.
The complainant now wants the commission to revoke Malala’s clearance certificate. The case is set to be heard today, Friday, June 17.
Another petition against Malala
Malala’s woes continue to deepen as petitions challenging his academic qualifications pile up.
The first petition was filed on June 3, this year.
In the petition, the complainant, Fred Muka, argued that the validity of Malala’s university degree and Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) were in dispute.
Muka urged the commission to resolve the matter before the gubernatorial hopeful was cleared to contest for the Kakamega governor seat.
