Vandals break into Omtatah’s Busia office, steal valuables

By , July 24, 2023

Busia Senator Okiya Omtatah’s county offices were yesterday broken into and assorted valuables carted away.

According to Becker Ogot, the office manager, the suspects struck in the wee hours of Sunday morning after breaking a window to gain entry.

“We are going to do an assessment of what has been stolen and give a report,” Ogot said.
The premises owner, Jacob Ikomero, asked security agencies to move with speed and arrest the culprits. He decried rise of insecurity in the area.

Busia County Commissioner Kipchumba Rutto confirmed the incident stating that they had launched investigations to arrest the suspects and establish the motive behind the vandalism.

Omtatah was not immediately available to comment on the break-in.
