Unique storytelling project to be unveiled
A project that is set to revolutionise story-telling is set for launch next month.
Baraka Media Lab hopes to launch a modern programme that is aimed at revolutionising storytelling, especially among media practitioners in the country.
The leading hub for Kenya’s media practitioners, in its two-day live production dubbed Story Sosa, hopes to captivate audiences with innovative blend of live performances and multimedia elements.
Story Sosa represents an audacious response to the challenges facing Kenya’s journalism, including political pressures, declining revenues and rapid evolution of digital and social landscapes.
In its aim to redefine the creative boundaries of storytelling through the project, Baraza Media Lab comes along as a solution to complex issues within the media industry.
Over the course of each evening, the programme is expected to showcase six meticulously curated stories similar to traditional magazine features.
Brains behind the event say the narratives will come to life through a dynamic fusion of live performances, mesmerizing videos, captivating animations and enchanting music.
Director Mugambi Nthiga, a renowned theatre and film expert, said the project is a thrilling indulgence in storytelling.
“Each story covers a vast range of subjects, brought to life through captivating animation and video. Our aim is to create a mesmerizing experience that will thrill and engage the audience, both live and through digital platforms,” he said.
The inaugural edition of Story Sosa will take place on July 22 and 23 at the Louis Leakey Auditorium within the Nairobi National Museum.
Angeline Musira, the producer of Story Sosa and the founder of Gemini Pictures called on audiences to embark on a journey of imagination and discovery, stating that through the tailor-made project, theatre enthusiasts and fans will be treated to a captivating experience.
“This unique offering promises to captivate and engage audiences, delivering intriguing narratives that entertain and enlighten them. Prepare to have your perspectives transformed as even the most ordinary things, like monkeys or samosas, take on a whole new significance in this awe-inspiring audio-visual feast,” said Musira.
